Description

This is a course designed to cover the course of African-American history from colonial times to the
present day. It will include an in-depth examination of slavery and the abolition movement as well as the
post-Civil War struggle for equality and civil rights, which is ongoing. Areas examined include
African-American political and legal developments, cultural and religious aspects, and the ongoing civil
rights campaign.
