Description
This course will cover the general and systemic pathology with special emphasis on structural and mechanism of diseases. The basic principles of pathology and physiology will be presented with an emphasis on understanding the mechanism of development of the disease process. The general cellular and molecular events involved in the pathogenesis of disease will be introduced covering cell injury and adaptation, inflammation, neoplasia and genetics. This will also include discussion about multiple organ systems pathology, with an emphasis on understanding the origins and functions of the pathophysiological diseases. The systems covered are hematology, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, renal, neurology, endocrine and reproductive.
