Description

Prerequisite: BI 101 & BI 102 or permission of instructor.
This course is an introductory course examining contemporary methods of policy analysis, agenda-setting, models of policy formulation and implementation, and policy evaluation impacting our environment. Students will examine impact of institutions, politics, law, policy analysis, and planning on regulations in the environmental arena, as well as the legal and philosophical underpinnings of the environmental movement. The class will scrutinize common-law precedent, private property issues, statutory programs, risk analysis, cost/benefit analysis, environmental justice issues, and other contemporary issues in environmental ploicy as they pertain to the core cirriculum.
